Hey Glen.
That is a fairly short engagement!
Nar, it's reasonable i reckon! just sounds short because it's the same year as we're in! would sound longer if it were june now and you were getting married in April next year!
Hey Now Kara.
It's gotta be a short engagement.
Now compare to your 7 year engagement!
Did you ever see the movie: "The Seven Year Itch" with Marilyn Monroe?
Nooooo Marilyn did not have an itch that lasted seven years.
OK, anyway you did not tell us how your weekend with your friend progressed!
Or maybe I missed the post.
HAHA .. yah shorter is better - better to get engaged when you're READY to get married, that's the way i see it now! You only really need the time long enough to book all the things you need to book etc.
HAHA, can't help yourself. It went rather well <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I am seeing him again tonight!
Now then Kara!
I like your philosophy on the short engagement. "Get engaged when you are ready for marriage". That could be a winner in these times.
Of course that was not the original concept of an engagement.
Ah so it indeed was a "he" that you enjoyed the weekend with!
"We" did tell you that there were heaps of guys just waiting to meet you!
What was the original concept of engagement?
LOL, yah there are a few that have asked me out and i have denied most of em though. There's one or two that strike my fancy - one of seems particularly taken with me <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> Perhaps i won't be single for that long after all! HAHA
Ah Kara.
The original concept of an engagement!
Well it was that in the olden days when a guy was besotted with a girl he eventually get enough courage to ask her to marry him.
The next period was getting to know much more about each other, hopefully to stay engaged long enough to see the reality of the other persons faults.
Then decide if both wanted to still get married.
A short engagement meant that not all "faults" would be apparent.
A long engagement meant that there maybe no wonderful mysteries to be discovered after marriage.
Anyway what about the guys you "denied"?
I hope you let them down gently as it takes an enormous amount of courage to ask a girl out?
And remember it takes no effort to refuse so a guy is usually reluctant to try.
You can adjust the odds with good body language!
Yikes! Enough of that stuff!
That's rather odd ... i thought people used to get married without knowing very much at all about one another ... it didn't really matter coz it was the way of life.
haha, well i said that there was this other guy i was getting more serious with! most of em have stuck around to be my friend actually! I'm making some rather god friends through this all! Go me!

Some friends are better than no friends.

I agree, friends are VERY valuable!

I just got home from rehearsals, Peter. This is production week which, means that show rehearsals are on every night except Thursday and opening night is on Friday with a show to follow Saturday. Next week includes shows Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then another three shows the following week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Busyâ¼
I'm so nervous and excited, even with my minor role.

Good luck Iblis! You should be on TV soon! My prediction is 2011 for your first part in Home and Away. Then in 2012 you will be in a short Aussie feature film. Then in 2014 you will take over from Matt Damon in the Bourne movies and will do Bourne movies 4, 5 and 6. Can't wait!!!
Peter - Sorry I have been pretty quiet lately! Too busy having holidays! But I am back now <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
Hello everyone!
It's Sunday afternoon.
It's hot.
I'm watching the cricket and probably later the grand final of the tennis.
Who's going for Murray the underdog?
Will it go more than three sets?
Will the sleepy Swiss miss his alarm and miss the match altogether?
Anyway what's happened?
My PC was most un PC and crashed, now I come back and no one is home!
Where are you all?
Kara, Kitefly, Iblis, Suze, Gymbuddie, Power, Duckie and all others. Even Glen has disappeared! Yikes!
Howdy ... had a rather eventful couple of days but now i have come out of it being able to say i am NO longer single!!!!!!!!!! Oh and i did Karaoke and actually sung and enjoyed it! (even though i was drunk and terrible and prob made a fool out of myself!) haha

I'm more in the hobby mindset and lack all the experience and schooling the big names usually garner to be justly classified as such.
Its all just shits and giggles at the minute, more of a growing experience and living life out of the comfort zone by challenging myself rather than a career path.
Still... i wouldn't be averse to being the next Ian McKellen minus the ho-mo-sexuality (damn language filter).
Kara hello!
Nice you are part of a twosome once more! Better luck this time. What's his name?
Bad news for me however, as I was hoping you and I could be an item! Oh well double drats once more!
Very brave doing the karaoke thing. Better when everyone is drunk!
Here's a riddle for Iblis:
What do you get when you cross karoke with rap?
Answer:
Not much it's cr*p.
Hey Glen, Iblis wrote about your word filter:
"Still... i wouldn't be averse to being the next Ian McKellen minus the ho-mo-sexuality (damn language filter)."
Please take an axe to the filter and bring it into the 21st. century.
We WERE drunk, there's no WAY i would have gotten up there if i wasn't! I only did it coz my BF wanted me to and he gave me those nice puppy dog eyes when i said he wanted me to! haha Liam is his name =)
Hi Kara.
How is your job casual?
Do they only call when they need or ...?
Casual as in not full time. .. smaller hours and no sick pay/annual leave - means i only get paid for the hours i work ... so if im sick and take a day off i miss out on a days pay etc ....
