Where is the MyNetFone Easter Egg?
#1
Hey guys,

I got an email to go on an easter egg hunt on the MYNetFone website and I am going crazy with no luck so far! The competition is open to everyone apparently. You don't need to be an existing customer I am told.

I thought I could just google the easter egg image or something but that does not work. And I have tried every trick in the book I can think of and still can't find the egg! Please someone help me as I am going crazy!!!!!

Please note the competition is only for netfone customers.

Cheers, Glen <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

p.s. there is also a thread on whirlpool talking about this netfone treasure hunt but there is no answer so far:

Darn... i've given all the VoIP features pages a cursory look and couldn't find the easter egg image i even checked the url on the easter egg hunt advert just in case one of the adverts is the actual easter egg.

Currently searching through a list of images via google images: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&...t=0&ndsp=20

Appears that mynetfone is to clever to allow google following, closest so far is this: https://www.mynetfone.com.au/blog/easter-lo...weekend-article

Glen, you've doubled up on the mynetfone link where the whirlpool link should be, please update... i need all the help i can get. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I must of spent over an hour and a half looking for this damned allusive easter egg, Glen.

Would've made sense being around this page: https://www.mynetfone.com.au/Business/Multi...Multiline-works with the VoIP and Business references combined.

I give up‼

H Iblis, The egg file name is "easter2010_mini_egg_70px.jpg".

And it looks like this:

.jpg   easter2010_mnf_egg_70px.jpg (Size: 2.52 KB / Downloads: 121)

I found it by using a program called "Black Widow" which scoured the site for all urls.

http://download.cnet.com/BlackWidow/3000-2...4-10011129.html

I did not actually find the egg. But I did find the "congratulations page".

You need to find a url on the site that points to this page:

https://www.mynetfone.com.au/offers/Easter-...gistration-Page

The congratulations url was some weird url from a different domain. It looked like this:

https://s7.addthis.com/static/r07/sh14.html

Hope that helps.

The congratulations page looks like this:

Note that I had to visit it from within the Black Widow reason. Probably has something to do with cookies set by the website.

Ah.. so the egg moves around so that people can't give away the easter egg, the congratulations page has to be accessed from within the mynetfone domain.

Glen, are you sure that the image you've posted is the egg or just the egg on the congratulations page?

This is a further explanation that a kind soul has shared at whirlpool:

Quote:Took me about 10 minutes to find the egg using BlackWidow. ( use Glen's post to find the link to BlackWidow ) Open up BlackWidow -> Click "Browser" -> In Address fill in "https://www.mynetfone.com.au" -> Click on the little green arrow. Let it load the first page. -> Might come up with "expired certificate" or something, just click "yes" -> Click Scanner -> Click "Start Scan" -> It will take 10-20 minutes to complete scan. -> Then Click Structure -> Go to the Offers -> Easter-Egg-Hunt-2010 directory -> Double Click on this link : h t t p s : w ww .mynetfone.com.au/offers/Easter-Egg-Hunt-2010/Registration-Page.html -> Fill in details, done
Glen.

What does the Black Widow program do?
hi peter, the program just follows all the links on a given website and then you can scour through them looking for the pages you are after <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> it is a "spider" sort of like google which also sends around a bot or spider to index webpages. But that is slightly different since the google spider also makes copies (or a cache version) of all the pages. I was just after the url's.

Cheers, Glen

I used the spidering program slightly differently; after scaning with mynetfone the structures page lists the easter egg image somewhere under the image/offers directory and the referrer value which shows what webpage is displaying the easter egg.

yeah i was trying to do that but as i was chasing the wrong image i ended up getting the registration page instead! oh well...whatever works!

It looks like the egg is now lots easier to find. I just did a check and found it quiet quickly here:
